Movie Review: I Wanna Dance With Somebody

Last night, my teenage daughter Claire and I got to sneak peek the new Whitney Houston biopic, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” (opens today nationwide). I’m an unapologetic Whitney super fan who Claire tolerates. If I were to sum up my thoughts on the movie in one sentence, it would be this: I couldn’t decide whether to cry or sing along, so I did both!

The Waco Mammoth: Can You Dig It?

Over Thanksgiving break, we loaded up our RV, Gracie, and headed to Waco for a few days before ultimately ending up at my sister’s house near Bryan/College Station. When most people think of Waco, they think of “Fixer Upper” stars Chip & Joanna Gaines, Baylor University or cult leader David Koresh — but there’s now something new for this central Texas town to be known for: Mammoths!

Sibling Trip: Going To Meet The Mouse

About four years ago, my sister Monica and I started a new “Siblings’ Trip” tradition, where every year or two we’d leave our spouses and children at home to enjoy some dedicated time together. The pandemic put those plans on hold for a bit, but we just returned from a week at Walt Disney World – The Happiest Place On Earth…and it, indeed was a “magical” time! Here some tips and snaps from our trip.

Everyone Loves A SnowDay!

The kids and I went to see Santa today at Galleria Dallas today! How cute is this set up?! Santa’s house was LEGIT adorable. We got a sneak a peek at the SnowDay Dallas immersive holiday photo experience, which has dozens of fun Christmas-themed photo opps – including Santa’s RV and a fun train ride to the North Pole.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from the Koches! Unlike years past, no real theme this year. Everyone (the kids) wanted to be something different and one Koch wanted to be nothing at all. So, with that, I present Dino, Fishstick, Sauvignon Blech and Grumpy Papa!

Somebody’s Getting Married

I was sorting through photos on my phone and started reminiscing about our wedding day in 2014. I thought y’all might like to see some photos from the fun-filled day, filled with many of our favorite people on the planet. San Francisco and its GORGEOUS City Hall played incomparable backdrop for the mid-afternoon service, which was followed by a boozy trolley ride to see the sights and an evening of dinner and dancing at the private dining room of Absinthe in the Hayes Valley neighborhood. (Of course, I cried through the entire service!)
