About Me

Hi, I’m Cooper Koch. If you haven’t heard of me, it’s probably because I’m not famous… yet. But stick around—I’m working on it.

I’m a Dallas-based gay dad, husband and storyteller who somehow turned oversharing into a career. I live with my husband Todd and our two kids, Claire and Mason. Aren’t we just the cutest? Seriously, I love us so much. We’re basically the gay Norman Rockwell painting that some Facebook warriors seem to fear most.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a storyteller. Usually making people laugh, typically as the butt of most of my own jokes. The older I get, the more I appreciate a really bad dad joke. Which is great because my kids now think I’m insufferable.

I’m the founder and president of Multistory Media, which over two decades has evolved from a traditional PR firm into a full-fledged media company. Whether I’m telling stories for clients in the building materials and commercial real estate industries, writing freelance features, or producing content that helps people live better lives, it all comes back to the same thing—my love for words and connection.

I also run He Said Dallas, an online guide to all things fun, fabulous and worth knowing—especially if you’re gay or just gay-adjacent. Because life’s too short for bad recommendations. And if you’re into good stories, questionable advice and a touch of chaos, you can subscribe to Cooped Up, my newsletter, podcast, and video series, where I share my best (and worst) ideas for living a more joyful, beautiful life.

In 2012, my family was featured in a national JCPenney ad campaign that sent One Million Moms into a pearl-clutching frenzy. Who knew two dads and their adorable kids could be so scandalous? It’s wild to think that something so full of love could cause so much outrage—but here we are.
